The nitty
gritty.
Our H4 Canbus Error Cancellation Module will prevent dash warning lights when upgrading to LED or HID.
These can also be used to resolve the polarity issue when upgrade headlamps on negatively switched vehicles.
How do I determine whether I need the CANBUS cancellation module?
Your vehicle warns you of any bulb failures is one way of determining whether your vehicle has a CANBUS system.
What does the CANBUS Cancellation Module do, and why might I need one?
Today modern vehicles have several Electronic Control Units that monitor the many subsystems in today’s cars. Things like Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Door Locks, etc are all controlled via the CANBUS system. Vehicles that are fitted with CANBUS Lighting System, monitor all bulbs in the vehicles system are functioning. When the factory bulbs are replaced with LED systems, the CANBUS will detect a variance in the expect current and believe there is a fault or a bulb out, which will either trigger a dash error or no power being delivered to the headlights until the fault is rectified. The CANBUS cancellation module tricks the computer into thinking all is well within the system.
Can this be used to resolve LED flicker in vehicles like Jeep?
Yes. Some American vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler have what is known as PWM headlight circuits. The use of our H4 CANBUS will eliminate the flicker that is visible when upgrading to LED.
IMPORTANT: CANBUS CANCELLATION WORKS BY CONVERTING VOLTAGE INTO HEAT. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS IMPORTANT TO SECURE THE CANBUS DECODER TO A METAL PART OF THE ENGINE BAY, AS THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS HIGH DURING NORMAL OPERATION.
